The glass was cool against Maya’s fingertips as she traced the silhouette of the red dress. Beside her, Sarah didn't say a word, her eyes locked on the mannequin wearing the black top and wide-leg jeans.

For a fleeting second, the store lights dimmed and the glass became a mirror. Maya didn't see the mannequins anymore; she saw herself in the red silk, hemline hitting just right, stepping into a room with newfound confidence. Beside her reflection, Sarah stood taller, wearing the black outfit like it had been tailored specifically for her.

"Too much?" Maya asked, breaking the silence, though she didn't take her eyes off the reflection.

Sarah laughed, a soft, conspiratorial sound. "If 'too much' means looking like a movie star, then yes. Definitely too much. Let’s try it on."
